Gallas gets second-string run out

William Gallas moved a step closer to making his Tottenham debut after playing 70 minutes of a training ground friendly against QPR.[LNB] Former Arsenal captain Gallas, who completed a controversial move to White Hart Lane last month, helped a Spurs XI to a 3-1 victory on Tuesday.[LNB]The 33-year-old is building up his match fitness, having not had a pre-season. And with Michael Dawson ruled out for up to eight weeks with ligament damage, Gallas may now be in the squad for Saturday's Premier League game at West Brom.[LNB]Jermaine Jenas and David Bentley both played 90 minutes, the latter having recently recovered from an ankle injury.[LNB]Coach Tim Sherwood told the club's official website: "It was William's first game for a while and it was excellent for the younger boys to play alongside him.[LNB]"He showed how he squeezes play up the pitch, how he uses his body and he manages the game superbly."
