Frank Lampard backs Fabio Capello to solve striking dilemma

FRANK LAMPARD has backed Fabio Capello to make the right call when he chooses who to play alongside Wayne Rooney in Wednesday?s World Cup qualifier against Croatia at Wembley. Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey has been the Italian?s favoured option during his 20-month reign as England boss, but Jermain Defoe's prolific start to the season has made him a real candidate for a starting berth. The Tottenham hitman came off the bench against Slovenia on Saturday to score England?s second goal and his eighth in seven games this season, with Heskey admitting he would not be surprised if Defoe replaced him for the Croatia clash. Lampard admits it will be a tough call to choose between the two, but has backed Capello to make the right choice because of his proven pedigree. "The question of starting is obviously the manager's decision. He has shown in his career he makes the right decision more often that not," Lampard said. "Jermain is making headlines as he's scoring goals. Emile has made a great case because of the way he has played for England for a long time." Who should partner Rooney in attack? Let us know what you think?
