Former Tottenham hardman Graham Roberts becomes boss of Pakistan's national side

New role: Roberts (right)[LNB]Former Tottenham captain Graham Roberts has been appointed coach of Pakistan.[LNB]The 51-year-old former Yeovil Town and Clyde boss has accepted the post after signing an initial two-month deal for a consultancy role. [LNB]Roberts, an ex-England international, won two FA Cups and a UEFA Cupwith Spurs in the 1980s.[LNB]'His contract is being financed by sponsors as the PFF does not havethat many funds,' the secretary of the Pakistan Football FederationAhmed Yar Khan Lodhi said.[LNB] 'It is great to have a high profile personality working with our players and hopefully it will be good for our team.'[LNB]The PFF official said that Roberts would work with the national team and prepare them for the Asian Games in Guangzhou.[LNB]'If we can have a good working relationship with him and he is alsohappy we would look at extending the contract with him,' Lodhi said.[LNB]Pakistan are currently placed 162nd in the FIFA working rankings.[LNB]Meanwhile, jobless Paul Hart has applied for the vacant manager's post at Hibernian.
