Forest open Gunter talks

Nottingham Forest are understood to have opened talks with Tottenham regarding a move for Chris Gunter. The Wales international ended the 2008/09 campaign on loan at the City Ground and left a lasting impression on the Reds' coaching staff. Forest boss Billy Davies has since made no secret of his desire to bring the 19-year-old back to Trentside next season, be it permanently or on a long-term loan. Gunter has also indicated that he would be keen on a return to the Championship club, and discussions regarding such an arrangement are now believed to have taken place. Meanwhile, Davies has made it clear that he has no intention of parting with any of his senior stars, unless he receives an offer of ridiculous proportions. "If somebody comes in and offers us big money for one of our players, we might have to look at something," he said in the Nottingham Evening Post. "But the idea is not to do too much to the current squad. We want to add to the squad, not reduce it."
