Nottingham Forest are poised to complete a double transfer swoop for Chris Gunter and Paul McKenna. Tottenham defender Gunter and Preston midfielder McKenna have both agreed personal terms at the City Ground after passing medicals on Friday evening. Wales international Gunter will cost Forest £1.75million, while Preston accepted a bid of £750,000 for experienced midfielder McKenna earlier in the week. The formalities of the moves for both players are expected to be completed on Monday as Billy Davies strengthens his squad ahead of the new Championship season. Davies knows McKenna well from his time at the helm of the Deepdale outfit, with the 31-year-old having spent his entire career with the Lilywhites. Gunter enjoyed a productive loan spell with Forest at the end of last season and was eager to make the move permanent as he did not feature in Harry Redknapp's plans at White Hart Lane.
