Ferdinand - We can retain cup
Spurs coach Les Ferdinand insists that they can beat Manchester United in the Carling Cup final.[LNB] The former England and Tottenham striker was speaking after the club's 1-1 draw in the Uefa Cup with Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday.[LNB]Boss Harry Redknapp fielded a second-string side as they bowed out of Europe, with their sights firmly trained on Sunday at Wembley.[LNB]And Ferdinand is convinced that Tottenham can become the first team in nearly 20 years to retain the trophy.[LNB]"It is a one off game and people raise their games for occasions like this, and that is all we can hope for," Ferdinand told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"If our boys play to their true potential and they all give 100 per cent, then we have a great chance of beating Manchester United.[LNB]"It is a great occasion everyone wants to play in the final and everyone wants to play at Wembley so it is up to the players to put their best foot forward."[LNB]
