Fantasy football: Tottenham's Aaron Lennon leads the field in value for money

25 September 2009 10:08
With the Telegraph Fantasy Football season six weeks old you may find your budget stretched already. Time to get rid of the deadwood and get in a 'cheapie' or two. Manchester United were the kings of clean sheets last season but they are finding things a little trickier this term. So to get those all-important bonus points you need to expand your horizons slightly. Birmingham have notched up three shut-outs thus far and centre-back Roger Johnson (£2.8m) is fantastic value at the back, while his 'keeper Joe Hart (£2.9m) is in equally good form. At White Hart Lane, Spurs have been full of action and full of goals. This is thanks in part to nippy winger Aaron Lennon (£3.7m) who with his relatively low valuation is almost half the price of Frank Lampard - but scoring more. Up top, the usual suspects have been banging them in but there's still value to be had. Only a tiny percentage of managers have put faith in Everton's Louis Saha (£5.2m), which is strange given the Frenchman's four goals in four games. Check Everton's next five fixtures and he looks even better. What do you think? Who are your bargain buys? Get involved by making a comment below...
