Tottenham Hotspur have told Zenit St Petersburg that they are ready to accept £10.5million for Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko. Zenit have made tentative enquiries about the unsettled 27-year-old with a view to making a £9m bid, paid over two years. Pavlyuchenko put suitors on alert earlier this week by saying he could quit White Hart Lane to preserve his chances of playing at next year's World Cup. But Lokomotiv Moscow and his former club Spartak Moscow have beenput off by boss Harry Redknapp saying £10m would be too low a valuationfor a player Spurs signed for £13.8m last summer. From Russia with gloves: Pletikosa could leave Moscow for a crack at the Premier League Pavlyuchenko is prepared to stay in north London and fight for hisplace until at least January after being reassured by Redknapp. Speaking before Zenit made their move last night, he said: 'It looks like I will not leave London. But I won't lose my nerve. 'We talked about it and the boss said he is counting on me and that I would get the chance to prove myself. 'I need to forget these negative thoughts, work even harder in training, wait for a chance and grasp it 100 per cent.' Zenit were last night on the verge of completing the £13m signing ofwinger Vladimir Bystrov from Spartak Moscow, despite widespreadprotests from fans, and they intend to add either Pavlyuchenko orDynamo Moscow striker Alexander Kerzhakov to their ranks before theclose of the transfer window next week.
