Everton 0-0 TottenhamSoccer Saturday analysis[LNB] Tim Howard set a new club record of 16 clean sheets in a season for Everton as they moved to within a point of fifth placed Aston Villa.[LNB]His opposite number, Heurelho Gomes also kept a clean sheet in a game of few chances and Matt Le Tissier believes 0-0 was a fair result.[LNB]Howard broke the record set by Neville Southall in the 1995/1996 season, however Le Tissier insisted he didn't have to be at his best to do it.[LNB]"Not really, no," said Le Tissier when asked if Howard had a lot to do.[LNB]"The only time that Tottenham threatened was when two shots went quite close to his post, but in terms of having to make serious saves this was probably his most comfortable afternoon all season.[LNB]"Everton did create a couple of good chances in the second half, but in terms of saves from Heurelho Gomes as well, he didn't have to make too many outstanding saves either.[LNB]"In the end 0-0 was probably about right."[LNB]ChancesDespite few chances and goalmouth action Everton were arguably the better side on the day.[LNB]Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar continued to display their good understanding down Everton's left side and Le Tissier singled out both players for special praise.[LNB]He added: "Leighton Baines was decent again and he's been in good form. But I was a bit disappointed with Marouane Fellaini. I've seen him play a lot better and his touch seemed to be a bit off.[LNB]"But in terms of a stand out performer I think Steven Pienaar was pretty useful. He took a bit of a knock in the second half but seemed to get over it and he finished the game.[LNB]"So I would say down the left-hand side, Piernaar and Baines were the two better players today."[LNB]DisappointingFor Spurs it was a case of back to the future as Jermaine Defoe and Robbie Keane started together for the first time in three years.[LNB]Both players are back at White Hart Lane after spells with other clubs and while Le Tissier admitted he was not blown away by the partnership, he was more disappointed with Tom Huddlestone's performance in midfield.[LNB]He said: "He was poor today and he gave the ball away so many times. A lot of the time it was simple passes and he hit three or four which just went straight out of play.[LNB]"Real basic passes that you should make and he just looked a bit disinterested at times."[LNB]
