Ajax star Christian Eriksen has hinted that he would be interested in a move towards Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, but is not in direct contact with any clubs at present.

Eriksen has been a major transfer target for numerous clubs during this window including Liverpool, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund (prior to the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan).

Eriksen told BT.dk. whilst on International duty “Tottenham are a great club. I know this because of Vertonghen. It is a good club, which is interesting. But there hasn’t been anything yet. We’ll find out in two weeks’. Eriksen did however leave the door open to offers from other top European clubs (but not from the Russian league) going on to say, “There is to my knowledge no negotiations right now either with a new club or Ajax. There are clubs that have called and made bids for me. I did not take much time to refuse. I would like to join one of the major five leagues. I have the view that I do not want to go to Russia at my age. I do not look at money”.

It is no secret that Eriksen has been looking to move away from the Dutch club. His agent was quoted as saying, “This is the first summer he’s open to a transfer, he will only leave if he can develop at a new club, and otherwise he will stay at Ajax” to Sporten.dk.
