Dos Santos closing on full fitness
Ipswich's on-loan forward Giovani dos Santos could be fit for Mexico's World Cup qualifier against Honduras next Wednesday.The Tottenham youngster was reported to have been ruled out of his country's qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras with a groin injury, but the 19-year-old could return earlier than expected.Ipswich physio Matt Byard told the club's official website: "We are keeping in constant touch with the Mexico medical people and we've been told that Gio is responding to treatment.
"We will know more about his fitness after the weekend. There is a chance that he could be ready for the Wednesday game and they will know that on Monday."
If he's not fit then hopefully he will be able to come back to England and will possibly have a chance to be available for the Sheffield United match."
If he stays with Mexico then he will not be getting back to England until Friday and it will then be a case of seeing how quickly he has recovered from the trip and whether there has been any reaction to the injury."
