Southend defender Dorian Dervite believes playing regular football with the Shrimpers has provided the launchpad for his international career. The 20-year-old, who is on loan from Tottenham, had played for France at all under-age levels until hitting a wall when trying to break through to the Under-21 side.As a result he opted to swap reserve-team football at White Hart Lane for a regular starting spot with Southend and has been rewarded with two Under-21 caps in the last week."It was a very good experience for me and I'm very proud to represent my country," he told his club's official website."I want to thank Southend United, because they have helped me play regular games this season."After my injury last season, I stopped playing for France, but now I am back in the Under-21 squad and I'm very pleased."[LNB]
