Jermain Defoe has expressed his excitement at the prospect of once again playing alongside Peter Crouch. The two England men forged a successful partnership at Portsmouth before Defoe completed a move back to Tottenham in the January transfer window. Former Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has now brought Crouch to White Hart Lane and will be hoping they can strike up a lethal understanding. Defoe insists he is not worried about the increased competition for places and has backed Crouch to settle into his new surroundings quickly "Peter Crouch is a fantastic player," said Defoe. "If you put him in any squad he will definitely improve it. "I am looking forward to playing with Crouchy because he is a world class forward and an England international. "I am sure he will fit into the team."
