Defoe plans extended Spurs stay

Tottenham and England striker Jermain Defoe has revealed he would like to spend the rest of his career at White Hart Lane.[LNB] Defoe, who is in his second spell at Tottenham, after one season at Portsmouth, is happy with life and would be delighted to stay.[LNB]The frontman believes the future is bright at Tottenham and the 27-year-old would happily end his career at the North London outfit.[LNB]"At the end of the day I am playing with great players and that's all I want," Defoe told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"The squad is full of internationals and when you play you know you have to play well because a player just as good as you can come in and do the same thing as you.[LNB]"I have always said if i am playing with great players then I am happy. [LNB]"So why would you not want to commit yourself to a club like that?[LNB]Champions League[LNB]Defoe helped Spurs qualify for the Champions League by finishing fourth in the Premier League last term and he believes Harry Redknapp's men can enjoy a good run in Europe's premier competition.[LNB]"We can have a good run in the Champions League and if we do do that it would be so special for the club and the fans and just everryone involved at the football club," added Defoe.[LNB]"It is the first time [being in the Champions League] and the fans have wanted it for so many years."
