Defender Dunne wants key role in the revolution at Manchester City

Richard Dunne insists he has no wish to leave Manchester City despite the club's attempts to sign high-profile defensive targets. City failed to land Chelsea skipper John Terry, but have brought in Kolo Toure from Arsenal and are refusing to give up on their pursuit of Everton's Joleon Lescott. Although Dunne only signed a four year deal 12 months ago, it looked as though he would be on his way out of Eastlands, with Tottenham and Sunderland linked with a £5m move for the Republic of Ireland star. But last night he said: 'I want to stay at City. I'm excited by the project here and want to be part of that. 'I've been assured I don't have to leave and the manager never said I had to go. These are exciting times.'
