Dawson speaks

Michael Dawson says it's time to deliver as we face Portsmouth in a key Premier League encounter at the Lane on Sunday. Both teams are in need of the points and we go into the game in the league's bottom three following last weekend's hammer blow of a last-minute defeat at Wigan. In-form 'Daws' knows we need to rediscover the form that lifted the team away from trouble after a poor start on Harry Redknapp's arrival in late October. "We believe we can win but there is no point believing if we don't do it," he insisted. "We've got to do it and climb the table. "We've got some big games coming up and it's not just about believing, it's about going out there and doing it. "We're at White Hart Lane and the fans will be behind us, as they always are. Their support always helps us. "Portsmouth are a good side, we saw that earlier in the season at Fratton Park. We're at home now and let's hope we can put it right." Michael said there were some long faces at Spurs Lodge after the Wigan defeat. "Everyone was so disappointed," he said. "You know you are in for a tough battle at Wigan and if you can keep a clean sheet, you've done well. We did that for 91 minutes." And typically, he wasn't really interested in talking about his own fine form in the circumstances. "It's no good me playing well and we're sitting there third from bottom. It means nothing. It's not about individuals, it's about the club getting out of the trouble we're in at the moment and we have to do that as soon as possible."
