Dawson happy to be back
Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson admits he is 'glad to be back' after missing the start of the season through injury.
Dawson has endured a troubled few months on the injury front after missing the end of last term with an ankle problem and then suffering an Achilles complaint in pre-season.
He made his first appearance of the campaign against Preston in the Carling Cup last week before coming on as a late substitute in the 5-0 win over Burnley.
The centre-half's return to fitness is a welcome boost for Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, who is without Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate.
Dawson could start Saturday's game at Bolton Wanderers and the 25-year-old is happy he is now in contention for Spurs.
"It has been a hard few weeks for me being in the treatment room and working with the fitness coach," said Dawson. "But it is part of football and I am just glad to be back.
"It is never easy to take, but I needed to work hard in the gym and make everything else stronger.
"We've had a few defensive injuries, but we just have to deal with it.
"I've been watching the lads and I am itching to get out there again."
