David's double

David Hutton struck twice as our Under-18s beat MK Dons 2-0 in the FA Premier Academy League on Saturday. Playing just off the front, Hutton (pictured) scored a goal in each half to secure a sixth win in the last seven league games for Alex Inglethorpe's team and eight wins in a nine-match unbeaten run overall including FA Youth Cup ties. Alex was particularly pleased with the reaction of the squad after playing in the FA Youth Cup at Charlton on Wednesday night. He reported: "It was great to see a couple of players get an opportunity, the likes of Jake Nicholson, who made his first start and Kudos Oyenuga, who made only his third appearance. "In terms of the performance, I thought we were a bit patchy but always controlled the game, Jamie Butler had very little to do. "David Hutton put us 1-0 up after about 20 minutes, typical of him, driving inside and finishing well. "The second goal after about 65 minutes was excellent. Jon Obika played him through, his first touch was great and it was a terrific finish into the top corner. "Overall, in terms of the week we've had, to come through both matches without any injuries and to win both, it's been great for us." There was better news to come as well as the lads' main title challengers in Group B in the FAPAL, Aston Villa, lost against Leicester City on Saturday. Spurs U18s: Butler, Nicholson, Byrne, Berchiche, Kasim (Parrett, 60), Townsend (Obika, 55), Ekim, Hutton, Fraser-Allen, Oyenuga (Smith, 70).
