The former England captain spent a six-week spell with the Barclays Premier League club as he looked to maintain his fitness levels having only returned from an achilles injury late in the last Major League Soccer campaign.
The 35-year-old had even hoped to play for Spurs but negotiations between the clubs broke down.
Walking tall: David Beckham was the centre of attention at Galaxy's training base this week
High hopes: David Beckham has returned to LA Galaxy after a six-week stint with Tottenham
Beckham's Galaxy contract runs out in November and the midfielder believes training with Spurs will stand him in good stead.
'My only objective was to get fit for the Galaxy and the MLS season,' he told reporters at the Galaxy's training ground.
'My objective was not to play for a Premier League team, and I am grateful to Spurs and Harry (Redknapp) for how they looked after me.
Friends reunited: Beckham mixed in with the rest of the Galaxy squad, including Landon Donovan
'If there was an option to play then I would have taken it, but without doubt I wanted to go somewhere and train and not take the three months off and sit around doing nothing.
'At this stage of my career and with the injury I had I felt it was more important for me to train.
'This was the time I was always going to come back, that was agreed and nothing would have changed that.'
It won't be too long, though, before Beckham is back on British shores. The superstar has been invited to April's Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
All seems well: Beckham lines up a trademark free-kick.
OOPS: but maybe he's still a little bit rusty
The event at Westminster Abbey on April 29 comes just two days before the Galaxy play Dallas in Texas.
And in an interview with the LA Times, Beckham was non-committal about whether or not he would be able to accept the invitation.
'We'll have to wait and see,' he said, when asked whether he planned to attend. 'I'll concentrate on playing and training here. That's all I'm thinking about.
Friend of the (Royal) family: Beckham has been invited to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton
'It's a huge thing for our country to have a royal wedding. I'm a big royal family fan, always have been. I was brought up by my grandparents and my parents to love the royal family.'
The former Manchester United man is also set to add to his own little band of royals, with the arrival of his fourth child later this month.
He added: 'We're having another baby, which we're over the moon about. My wife's five months' pregnant. She's obviously very healthy and looking after herself and we've got three boys who are very happy, so it's a big year.'
