Crouch tips Spurs for top four

New Tottenham striker Peter Crouch believes the club have an excellent chance of a top-four finish in the Premier League this season. The 28-year-old England forward signed for Spurs from Portsmouth for around £9million, and thinks his new team have the necessary firepower to break into the much-coveted UEFA Champions League places. No side has disrupted the 'big-four' of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal since Everton in 2005, but Crouch is confident Spurs can repeat the achievement of the Toffees in the new season. "It's going to be difficult to break into the top four, but if anyone has the potential this club does," he said on Sky Sports News. Crouch, who began his career at Tottenham over a decade ago, has followed manager Harry Redknapp to White Hart Lane after interest from a number of parties. "It was an easy decision to make because of the size of the club," he said. "I was very keen to come here - the manager has always got the best out of me. There were firm offers from Sunderland, Fulham and Spurs, and for me the biggest club is this one." The tall centre-forward will have to compete with Robbie Keane and Roman Pavlyuchenko for a place in the first-team, but he is looking forward to playing alongside Jermain Defoe once again. He said: "We've always worked well together. We've got competition for our places, but we've always scored goals and if we play together again I'm sure it will work. "Jermain, Robbie and Pavlyuchenko are three fantastic players and I think all of us will complement each other."
