Peter Crouch has heaped praise on young midfielder Sandro for the role he played in helping Tottenham overcome AC Milan to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Spurs will find out on Friday who they will play in the next round of the competition after last week's goalless draw at White Hart Lane saw the club through to the last eight with a 1-0 aggregate win. Sandro had only made six starts before last month's win in the San Siro, but he excelled in both legs against the Italian giants, cutting off their supply line by coming out on top in a physical battle against seasoned campaigners Gennaro Gattuso, Mathieu Flamini and Clarence Seedorf. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp described Sandro's performance last week as "immense" and Crouch agreed that the 21-year-old played a pivotal role in both legs of the momentous victory. "Sandro was one of the top players over the two legs. He was fantastic," the 30-year-old England striker said. "He is a young player who doesn't have much experience but he put himself about the place fantastically well. I'm really pleased for him. He's a great lad."
