Crouch - All up four grabs
Peter Crouch accepts it will take an almighty effort to break the top four's monopoly on the Premier League, but believes Tottenham are the side best placed to do so.
The beanpole striker was Spurs' hero on Saturday as he came off the bench to score an equaliser against Birmingham that helped maintain Spurs' immaculate start to the new season, as Aaron Lennon netted a late winner.
Tottenham sit second in the table only on goal difference to Chelsea after their best start to a season since 1960.
For much of the campaign Crouch has had to play second fiddle to the in-form Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane but at the weekend it was the England man, recalled by Fabio Capello for next month's World Cup qualifier, who stole the headlines.
"It'd be a surprise if anyone breaks in to the top four," he admitted.
"They've been so consistent over the past five or six years. But if anyone can do it, we can.
"I'm confident I'm going to play a big part in Tottenham's future.
"The manager's said we've got a lot of options up front and if something's not working then I can bring something different.
"But I still prefer to start games, and hopefully I've given the manager something to think about."
