Coyle keen to end road run

Burnley manager Owen Coyle admits Saturday's encounter with Tottenham will bring back fond memories of his side's cup heroics last year- but insists his players will be focused purely on picking up league points on the road for the first time this season. Despite making an excellent start to life in the top flight with nine points from their first six games, the Clarets are yet to earn a point on their travels in their debut Barclays Premier League campaign. After defeats at Stoke, Chelsea and Liverpool, the quest now takes them to White Hart Lane, the ground they last visited for the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-finals in January. Having already beaten Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal in the competition, Burnley took a first-half lead in that game before being brought back down to earth with a bump as Spurs rallied to run out 4-1 winners. Coyle's men then famously almost turned the tie around in the second leg before finally going down 6-4 on aggregate. But now the mathematics are far simpler - currently on zero, Burnley need to start accumulating away points, something the manager has been emphasising to his players. Coyle said: "We have to go now and try and earn some points on our travels. We have been to Stoke on the opening day, followed by Chelsea and Liverpool and they don't get any easier. But there are points available to us and we know that if we are at our maximum and all doing our job individually and collectively we are capable of winning points. That has to be the motivation on Saturday."
