Could Romelu Lukaku be heading for White Hart Lane?

On loan Everton striker Romelu Lukaku could be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur with his agent confirming he has held talks with chairman Daniel Levy.

Lukaku followed up an outstanding loan spell with West Brom with another productive spell with the Toffees; bagging 12 goals under Roberto Martinez. The Belgian striker has proved a fan favourite at Goodison but the Blues might not have the financial capabilities to match Chelsea's demands should Jose Mourinho deem him surplus to requirements.

Chelsea's current striker of Samuel Eto'o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba have been criticised for misfiring this season and a world class striking option is likely to be signed in the summer. Edinson Cavani and Diego Costa have been rumoured with big money moves to London as well as Radamel Falcao and Jackson Martinez from Monaco and Porto respectively.

Mourinho is yet to make up his mind whether Lukaku will stay at Stamford Bridge and any deal could hinge on signings made in the summer. Lukaku could favour the offer of first team football at White Hart Lane with Roberto Soldado failing to justify his £25 million price tag.

The former Anderlecht striker could be the perfect fit for Tim Sherwood's side as they look to bolster their firepower in order to compete the top Premier League teams and return to the green grasses of the Uefa Champions League.
