Tottenham[LNB]will have failed this season unless they finish in the top six of the Barclays Premier League, according to Vedran Corluka.[LNB]While Spurs have improved significantly under Harry Redknapp, even reaching the Carling Cup final where they lost to Manchester United on penalties, they are unlikely to reach pre-season expectations.[LNB]Croatia international Corluka said: 'Before the season everyone was saying that we need to be in the top six, so if we are not there then it is not a success.[LNB] Great expectations: Vedran Corluka (left) is braced for disappointment[LNB]'If we had a target before the start of the season and we didn't achieve it, then it's not a success.[LNB]'We were saying 'we will break the top four' but we are now in this position. We need to wait and do some things first because we are far from there now.[LNB]On the up: Harry Redknapp[LNB]'We need to set one target and be there. Then we can say "we've done this, we can do something else next year."'[LNB]Corluka has also warned that Tottenham have a long way to go before they break into the top four.[LNB]He added: 'At the moment we can just say that we will stay in the league but we need to be realistic. We can't now say that next season we will be in the top four places.[LNB]'Everyone hoped to be where Aston Villa are before the season started.[LNB]'Next season we will have that same hope so I think we need to show that on the pitch because the start of the season was terrible. Hopefully we will never repeat that again.'[LNB] I came to Spurs for Euro glory - not to fight relegation, says keeper Gomes[LNB]I came to Spurs for Euro glory - not to fight relegation, says keeper Gomes[LNB]TOTTENHAM FC NEWS FROM ACROSS THE NET[LNB][LNB]
