Coppell admits he jumped before he could be pushed out at Reading

Steve Coppell, who quit after nearly six years as Reading boss following Tuesday'splay-off defeat to Burnley, says he jumped before he could be pushed. Coppell said: 'I obviously jumped the gun by going to the chairman. But he could well have come to me and said, "You've had your chance - on yer bike".' Elsewhere, recently promoted Leicester face competition from PremierLeague clubs to sign striker Simon Cox from Swindon but are close tocapturing midfielder Dany N'Guessan from Lincoln. Meanwhile, Tottenham are in talks with Nottingham Forest over a deal for Wales defender Chris Gunter.
