The row between Fabio Capello and Harry Redknapp over Ledley King escalated today when the Italian accused Tottenham's boss of double standards.[LNB]Redknapp criticised Capello for calling up injury-prone King but the England boss has now hit back by questioning why Redknapp did not make a fuss over Alan Hutton.[LNB]The right-back has been picked by Scotland despite not playing for Spurs for the past four months because of a foot injury.[LNB] Controversy: Fabio Capello greets Ledley King this week[LNB]'Harry Redknapp has spoken about the England team, but Alan Huttonis in the Scotland squad after being out for a number of months. Butthat has not been mentioned,' said Capello.[LNB]'I do not understandwhy this is the case. I think I should be able to check all my players.I did it with Steven Gerrard last time - and I wanted to do it withLedley King this time.[LNB]'He was not injured when he played forTottenham last week, and it was important for me to speak with him andhear what my own medical people say.'[LNB]Key: King is Spurs' rock[LNB]Capello felt he had every right to select King, who had played inSpurs' last four matches and is seen by the Italian as one of the bestcentral defenders in the country.[LNB]The England coach was perfectlyaware of King's chronic knee problems but thought it important to speakwith the player directly and have his own staff offer their medicalassessment.[LNB]Redknapp queried the decision, claiming if the 28-year-old waspicked for the Three Lions - either against Slovakia tomorrow orUkraine next Wednesday - it would effectively prevent him playing inTottenham's next match.[LNB]The Spurs boss then continued his attack on Tuesday, by which timeKing had returned to his club - with Capello informed there was nochance of him being involved in training this week and thereforeplaying in either game.[LNB]It has now largely been accepted that King's international career is over, given the problems caused by numerous cartilage operations will never get better and can only be managed.[LNB] Outburst: Harry Redknapp (right) was upset at King's inclusion[LNB]Yet Capello's admiration for the player has not been affected - and should King ever be restored to a decent level of fitness, Redknapp would not be required to drive the player to South Africa for next year's World Cup.[LNB]'If he was going to do that he should set off now - it is a long way in a car,' laughed the England boss.[LNB]'Without doubt, King is one of the best central defenders in England. If he was fit, Redknapp would not need to make the journey. King could come with us.'[LNB] I want my King to rule for England, insists Tottenham boss RedknappREVEALED: The real reason why raging Redknapp has gone to war over KingCapello stands firm on King: England coach will pick Spurs defender again despite rowLong live the King: Spurs keen for Ledley to sign new dealTOTTENHAM FC
