Button back at Gresty Road

On-loan goalkeeper David Button has returned to Crewe after having his back injury assessed by his parent club Tottenham. The 20-year-old missed the 5-3 defeat at Accrington because of the problem, with Alex signing Adam Bogdan on loan from Bolton for their midweek game against Bury while Button received treatment in London. However, Button is back at Gresty Road and could even make a surprise return to contention for Saturday's home game against Rotherham. "David is back with us now and it looks like he will be fit a lot earlier than we thought," said Crewe boss Gudjon Thordarson. "Thankfully his back is not as bad as we feared and it doesn't look too serious. He has had a similar back injury before, but this time it is not as bad. "He will train and as long as there is no reaction he will then battle it out with our new on loan keeper Adam Bogdan, Adam Legzdins and Steve Collis to play."
