Brown: Spurs are top-four side

Hull boss Phil Brown admitted he had no complaints about the result as his side were crushed 5-1 at home by Tottenham. The Tigers, whose hopes for the season had been raised by a battling performance in defeat at Chelsea, are still without a win in the Premier League since March, a run stretching 12 games. Spurs had too much going forward for City, with Jermain Defoe smashing a stunning hat-trick in a superb display. Brown was full of praise for the visitors, and said: "From a neutral's point of view you have probably seen a team in the top four this season, no doubt. "We didn't apply ourselves from minute one or get close enough to Tottenham to keep ourselves in the game. I thought there was a gulf between the two teams in terms of class, quality and the performance. "Every player on the field of play for Tottenham was outstanding. That's one of the best performances I have seen in the Premier League."
