Brother of Spurs star Defoe was 'murdered over drugs debt'
The brother of England football star Jermain Defoe is thought to have been murdered over a drugs debt.[LNB]Jade Defoe, 26 - half-brother to the £15million Tottenham striker - was ambushed and beaten by a gang near a drug-dealing den in Leytonstone, East London, last Monday.[LNB] Tragic: Jade's death has rocked Jermain (inset)[LNB]He slipped into a coma and died four days later on Friday. A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a head injury.[LNB]A police source said: 'Jade was known to police. He was a small-time drugs dealer. He may have owed money.'[LNB]Inquiries were being met 'by a wall of silence in the drugs fraternity', he added.[LNB]The men's biological father had an affair while his wife was pregnant with Jermain.[LNB] A friend said: 'They met quite often at family events.
