Tottenham assistant manager Kevin Bond has expressed his sympathy for Ray Wilkins following his opposite number's departure from Chelsea.[LNB] Wilkins' exit from the Premier League champions came out of the blue, with the former club captain told his contract was not being renewed.[LNB]Bond said: "I never like to see anybody in that type of position, who's got such a close affinity with a football club, leave the club."[LNB]Bond believes Wilkins' departure could have an adverse effect on Chelsea's players but added: "People in football do know that change is the nature of the game to a degree as well.[LNB]"I'm sure there'll be a lot of people upset about that - and quite rightly so - but you have to get on with your job."[LNB]Bond has been Harry Redknapp's number two at Spurs for just over two years and insists the role is a crucial one.[LNB]"I think it's important for the manager, to support him, bounce ideas off him, somebody who he can trust," he said.[LNB]"Somebody he can beat up from time to time! Management in the Premier League is a highly pressurised job and I think you need to be able to speak to people you can bounce ideas off, people who think perhaps the same way you do or similar to you, who don't always agree with you, because you can't have that."[LNB]The circumstances of Wilkins' departure are clouded in mystery, with his relationship with manager Carlo Ancelotti previously believed to have been good.[LNB]But Bond revealed bust-ups between coaches is inevitable, revealing he and Redknapp have had more than their fair share.[LNB]"Oh my God - we have plenty of rows," he said.[LNB]"But once you've had a row, that's the end of that, you put it to one side and then you get on with it, so there's no grudges or anything.[LNB]"You do have differences of opinion.[LNB]"Harry's very good at listening and taking in all of the members of staff's opinions.[LNB]"He'll take it all on board and make the decisions himself."
