Blanc warns clubs off Chamakh

Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc is adamant that Marouane Chamakh's future remains at Stade Chaban-Delmas.

Chamakh has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur mooted as potential suitors.

Spurs, however, have yet to comment on the rumours, while Blanc has stressed that attacker Chamakh remains in his plans.

Blanc told Sud-Ouest: "Marouane will still be under contract with Les Girondins next season.

"Him moving is totally out of question. He is an extremely productive player."

But Morocco international Chamakh has failed to fully quell the lingering speculation surrounding his future.

He said: "We will certainly be speaking with the club about a contract extension but it's still too early to speak about it.

"If one day I was to move on, for sure it will be for England. But this doesn't mean that I'm desperate to leave.

"It will depend on the opportunities that will arise."
