Bentley back for Spurs against Arsenal

David Bentley, who scored a stunning goal against his old club Arsenal last season, will start his first league game of the season against them on Saturday, Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp said on Friday.[LNB] Bentley's long-range strike, his only league goal of the season, helped Spurs to a 4-4 draw at the Emirates a year ago but, with Aaron Lennon generally taking on the right midfield role, he has gradually fallen out of favour since.[LNB] The former England midfielder has had only five minutes of action in the league this season but was impressive in Spurs' 2-0 win over Everton in the League Cup on Tuesday and, with Lennon missing on Saturday through injury, retains his place.[LNB] "He showed on Tuesday night he has got so much ability and it's such a waste if he doesn't put that into his performances," Redknapp told reporters at the club's training ground.[LNB] "He was outstanding on Tuesday. We need David Bentley playing well because when he's playing well he's a real asset to the club.[LNB] "Now we need a run of performances like that from him. He will play tomorrow, he'll go back there and play.[LNB] "He's looking forward to going back to Arsenal again where he started out so it's a big game for him. He scored a great goal last year and I'm sure he'd like to score another good goal tomorrow. He looks in the right frame of mind and he looks very sharp."[LNB] (Additional reporting by Mitch Phillips. Editing by Justin Palmer)
