Bayern Munich are ready to battle a host of Premier League clubs for the signature of Eljero Elia, skysports.com understands. The FC Twente winger is departing this summer after helping Steve McClaren's side to second spot in the Eredivisie. Twente also made the Dutch Cup final, which they lost on penalties to Heerenveen in Rotterdam last weekend. A host of clubs were represented at that game as Elia shone as he scored and also set up a goal. Skysports.com understands that Everton, Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Aston Villa were all represented at De Kuip. Elia, though, is also wanted by a number of German clubs with Martin Jol's Hamburg very keen. However, the main interest looks set to emerge from Bayern Munich, where AZ Alkmaar boss Louis van Gaal is ready to take charge this summer. Van Gaal is a huge fan of Elia and is believed to be ready to mount a bid to take him to the Allianz Arena. Elia's excellent campaign was recently rewarded with the Johan Cruyff award, which is given to the top young player in Holland.
