The word on the street, at least according to the Mail is that Spurs have entered the race to sign the Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier. The 21-year-old Ivorian will be resting for the season to come and it is thought that Pochettino has plans for the player with Kyle Walker still recovering from injury.

Spurs will go head-to-head with Arsenal once more with the player earmarked by Arsene Wenger to replace Bacary Sagna and with Wenger was monitoring the player in Brazil who proved to be one of the few successes in a disappointing campaign for the Ivory Coast.

Pochettino will be hoping to get negotiations moving in the next couple of days says the report and are just waiting on an improved offer from Hull for Michael Dawson who they are looking to sell for the right price.

The defender has played for Lens and Toulouse in his short career, making 70 appearances for Toulouse since joining in 2012 and scoring eight goals. Aurier joined the national team in 2013 and has now played at the World Cup, providing two assists that resulted in two goals for Bony and Gervinho. Aurier has a younger brother who plays for his old club Lens.
