Assou-Ekotto hails Redknapp

Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto has hailed Harry Redknapp for leading Spurs into the Champions League.[LNB] Spurs secured fourth spot and a place in the qualifying round of the Champions League with a 1-0 win over rivals Manchester City on Wednesday.[LNB]Assou-Ekotto believes Redknapp deserves all the praise for transforming Tottenham's fortunes after leading them from relegation worries at the wrong end of the table to fourth spot in 18 months.[LNB]"Everybody is happy with Harry Redknapp, he is very friendly, you can joke with him because he is a good manager," Assou-Ekotto told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"He is cool with you so we want to give the best for him and we don't want to make him sad.[LNB]"He knows every player is different, he does not try to make the team like an army.[LNB]"He is a simple manager and it is better like that."[LNB]Assou-Ekotto remains hopeful Spurs can clinch third spot and secure qualification straight into the group stages of the Champions League at the expense of arch-rivals Arsenal.[LNB]Spurs need to win at Burnley on Sunday and hope Arsenal, who have won just once in their last eight games, slip up at home to Fulham.[LNB]Assou-Ekotto hopes Fulham can Tottenham a favour by beating Arsenal and keeping alive their hopes of finishing in third.[LNB]"Everything is possible in football," added Assou-Ekotto. "We beat Arsenal, we beat Chelsea so why not? Fulham can do it."
