Jonathan Woodgate is facing an agonising fortnight before he finds out whether he will get the chance to save his career. [LNB]The Tottenham defender has returned to solitary training after the best part of 19 months out with a groin problem but has yet to join in with the first-team or full contact exercises. [LNB]'Hopefully, in a couple of weeks, Jonathan will be able to play,' said manager Harry Redknapp, who hopes to send Woodgate out on loan.[LNB] Injury prone: Jonathan Woodgate has played just three appearances since May last year[LNB]'If he had been out for the rest of the season, I don't know if he would have come back from that. At least he is back training, feels good and looks in good shape. [LNB]'This is make-or-break really for him, this period. He needs to get out there and show he is ready to get his career going again.'[LNB]Wolves and West Ham were put on alert on Friday after Redknapp met with Woodgate and suggested he go out on loan. [LNB]Both clubs are looking for central defenders in January and may be willing to take a risk on the former England player. [LNB]Woodgate has made just three appearances since May last year, but there is finally a glimmer of light for him now, a few weeks before his 31st birthday. [LNB]'If he comes through the next week or two, it might be a good idea for him to go out on loan,' Redknapp said.[LNB] 'What he has been through must have been a nightmare, but this is the best he has felt for 18 months.' [LNB]Redknapp does not expect to include Woodgate in the 25-man squad he has to submit to the Premier League at the end of the January transfer window. [LNB]He is comfortable with his options in the centre of defence and believes they remain title contenders as they enter this busy period.[LNB]'It is the best chance for Tottenham to win the title for years,' said Redknapp, whose club have not been crowned champions since 1961.
