Albion keep fingers crossed over Maghoma

Burton manager Paul Peschisolido is keen to sign former Tottenham midfielder Jacques Maghoma. The 21-year-old featured for Albion in Saturday`s pre-season friendly against Derby and then played for League Two rivals Hereford against Bristol City on Monday night. Maghoma impressed Peschisolido and he would like to discuss a deal. However, the Brewers boss concedes that wages could prove to be a stumbling block. "There is a chance that Jacques could be with us for next season, but we are on a tight budget," said Peschisolido. "You have got to remember that the boy has come from Spurs last year and has been a part of the first-team squad when Martin Jol was in charge. "The wages he was on there are obviously a lot bigger than anything we would be able to afford, so he would have to be sensible with his wage demands and then we can maybe sit down and see where we go. "It is not going to be an easy one but we have already done well to get him up here to look around the facilities and to give him the level of training that we have done over the last week or so, and so it is to be hoped that money won't become an issue."
