Agent hints at Dos Santos swap deal

The agent of Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos has revealed the Mexican playmaker could move to Inter Milan as part of a potential swap deal for goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

Dos Santos has struggled to hold down a first-team place since moving to White Hart Lane for £6million in 2008. He has spent time on loan at Ipswich, Galatasaray and Racing Santander and looks set to leave the Barclays Premier League club this summer.

The Mexico international's agent, Vicente Montes, told calciomercato.com: "We have several options and we need to weigh them all up. The truth is that Gio has always wanted to play in La Liga or Serie A so that's what we're aiming for."

He added: "A swap deal with Julio Cesar? Often journalists talk without knowing the truth, but that is not the case here.

"Inter is one of the possibilities, I can't deny that."

Julio Cesar, who has made over 200 appearances for Inter, winning the Champions League in 2010, has two years left to run on his contract at the San Siro.

Montes added: "Giovani wants the situation resolved as soon as possible and in the next few days we will try to find a solution, but negotiating with Tottenham is not easy.

"I would say it's 50% likely he'll go to Italy, 50% to Spain. There are other Italian clubs that want him and we're evaluating the offers."
