Adebayor back in the fold at Tottenham

Forgotten man Emmanuel Adebayor posted a picture of himself travelling to Moldova with the rest of the Tottenham squad, with the North London club facing FC Sheriff in the Europa League tomorrow evening. The Togolese striker uploaded a photo of himself on his Twitter and Instagram accounts (E_Adebayor) in his Tottenham suit.

If he makes an appearance on Thursday, it will be a welcome return to first-team action for the frontman who has suffered a torrid start to the season, with the shock death of his brother Peter forcing Adebayor to miss a large chunk of pre-season. Having returned to the club in August after travelling to Togo for the funeral, Adebayor was put onto a special training regime to get him up to match fitness; it now appears that he is ready to start playing.

It is welcome news for Tottenham, with Adebayor offering an entirely different proposition up front to both Roberto Soldado and Jermain Defoe; if he can return to his 2011-12 form, which saw him rack up 17 goals and 14 assists, then he could be the man to lead Tottenham into the top 4 or onto a title challenge.
