O'Connor out for Gulls
Alan Knill will be without Anthony O'Connor when his side host Chesterfield.
The 21-year-old Blackburn loanee, who has been a regular since arriving at Plainmoor, is away with Republic of Ireland's Under-21s and unavailable.
But Krystian Pearce looks set to step in having played the majority of a reserve game on Tuesday to sharpen himself up for a return to League Two action having been an unused substitute in their last two games.
Ben Harding and Billy Bodin are still sidelined and two other players who will not feature are central defender Kirtys McKenzie, who has joined Gloucester on loan, and midfielder Damon Lathrope who has headed to Skrill Premier side Hereford.
Ritchie Humphreys will captain Chesterfield to mark his 600th career league appearance.
Humphreys, who on Wednesday was formally sworn in as the new chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association, will take over the armband from Ian Evatt as the club recognise the 35-year-old reaching the landmark.
The Spireites, without a league win in seven matches and with no victory at Plainmoor for 29 years, expect to have an unchanged squad and, after romping to an impressive 3-0 success against Rochdale in midweek in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, Blues boss Paul Cook could name an unchanged starting line-up.
Full-back Nathan Smith (ankle) and midfielder Sam Morsy (knee) remain out while forward Gary McSheffrey (hip flexor) will not travel as a precaution.
