Robertson hoping for more of the same from Gulls

Torquay defender Chris Robertson is hoping the club can start the new season where they left off last term. The Gulls were in serious threat of relegation from League Two as late as March, however they turned their form around and were unbeaten over their final eight games - winning six and drawing two - to eventually finish 17th.Robertson, 23, who is the second longest-serving player at Plainmoor having joined initially on loan from Sheffield United in March 2007, said a change of philosophy was the main reason for the dramatic change in the team's fortunes. He told the Herald Express: "For a time last year we were playing quite nice football, but we were either drawing games or losing by the odd goal. But towards the end of the season we were more solid and direct."When you get down to it, football is a results business. Look at Stoke in the Premier League. Plenty of people have a go at them but they do the job."I've got more experience now, and I don't care how we play as long as we get three points. Towards the end of last season we had quite good results, and hopefully we can carry on where we left off."
