Murray's mint for Atkins

Torquay United boss Ian Atkins was delighted with the debut performance of former Carlisle United midfielder Adam Murray in the 1-1 draw at Darlington.

The 24-year-old joined the Gulls on transfer deadline day and Atkins believes he will prove to be a useful addition to his squad.

Atkins told the Herald Express: "We saw immediately what he can bring to the side.

"He keeps the ball very well and that's vital when you are on the back foot as we were at times at Darlington.

"Once he has time to settle in he will be massive for us."

Murray had been with the Cumbrians for 18 months, having previously had spells with Mansfield Town, Kidderminster Harriers, Notts County and Derby County.
