Gulls swoop for Cooke

Torquay United manager Lubos Kubik has continued to revamp his relegation-threatened squad by signing the Bournemouth winger Stephen Cooke on loan until the end of the season. Cooke started his career at Aston Villa and made three Premiership appearances for the club before joining the Cherries permanently in 2004 after enjoying two successful loan spells at Dean Court. In total he scored four goals in 56 appearances for the League One side and also spent a period on loan with Wycombe Wanderers in the 2004-05 campaign. The Gulls are five points adrift at the foot of the League Two table after failing to win any of their last 18 matches.
