Torquay United have revealed that they are on the verge of appointing a new high-profile manager. The Gulls are expected to unveil their new boss next week with current incumbent Ian Atkins moving to a director of football position. Speaking about the new appointment, Gulls chairman Chris Roberts said: "He is a former Czech player of pedigree and has featured in the World Cup as well as winning many caps for his country. "I don't want to say too much about him, but hopefully on Monday everything will fall into place and he will be named as our new coach. "We have offered Ian (Atkins) the chance to become director of football - an offer he is now seriously considering."
