Torquay United have confirmed that goalkeeper Nathan Abbey has played his last game for the club after rejecting the offer of a new contract.
The 28-year-old had been offered a deal running until the end of the season, but decided against accepting the terms due to travelling commitments.
A short statement on the club's official website confirmed: "Nathan had been living in Luton and was commuting to training from there.
"The club offered him a new six-month deal, which included a clause in the deal that he relocate his family from Bedfordshire to Devon.
"However, Nathan did not feel that he could move his family to the area and he will be leaving the club."
Abbey was replaced late on in the 2-0 home defeat by MK Dons on Boxing Day, with teenager Martin Horsell brought on for his first taste of senior action.
