Torquay United could have new owners this week after chairman Mike Bateson confirmed he is close to selling his controlling shares in the club.
The Gulls supremo revealed he is in negotiations with a party interested in taking over at Plainmoor and his lawyers are trying to broker a deal in the near future.
The identity of the potential new owners remains a mystery, but Bateson said: "I'm confident we'll agree the deal."
He added on the club's official website: "I've been in talks with several interested parties over the last few months and, throughout the negotiations, the future well-being of the club has been the only priority.
"It's fair to say that I'm some way down the road towards concluding a deal and we'll issue a full statement if and when a deal is concluded."
