Double blow hampers Gulls
12 Apr 2007 - 13:54:15
Torquay United's bid to avoid relegation to the Conference has suffered a double blow with the news that two on-loan players have left Plainmoor through injury.
Winger Alistair John has returned to Charlton Athletic after suffering a hamstring problem, while Sheffield United midfielder Lloyd Kerry damaged his foot in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Walsall.
"Lloyd had been playing very well. When he came on (on Saturday), he went over on his foot and is out for the rest of the season," admitted Torquay's director of football Colin Lee.
"Ali won't figure again. He had done well and was improving all the time.
"You have to remember, these are young boys who have never played league football before - it's not easy.
"I have to say that this is one of those situations that we've got no control over. Players get injured. That's football."
