O'Connor set for Gulls bow

Torquay's new signing Anthony O'Connor is poised to make his debut when York make the long trip to Plainmoor.

The 20-year-old defender, who spent last season on loan at Burton, joined on a month's loan from Blackburn earlier this week and an injury to Aaron Downes means a Gulls debut is likely.

Their player of the year injured a knee in training last week which saw him miss the 2-1 defeat at Newport and Downes will know how long he will be sidelined for after Monday's surgery.

Charlton loanee Ade Azeez made a goalscoring bow last weekend and will be involved again while this match is the last of Callum Ball's loan spell from Derby.

York will be without suspended midfielder Lewis Montrose as they look to secure their first away win of the season.

Montrose received his fifth booking of the season in last week's home win against Portsmouth and sits out a one-game ban, while striker Richard Cresswell also misses out as he serves the final game of a three-match suspension.

Tom Platt replaced Montrose last week and he could return to the starting line-up, but Craig Clay is also in contention to fill the gap.

Boss Nigel Worthington is not expected to make any further changes following last week's 4-2 win over Portsmouth, with on-loan winger Ryan Brobbel, midfielder Josh Carson and striker Wes Fletcher all set to continue.
