Gulls short on midfielders Torquay boss Martin Ling has an injury crisis ahead of the visit of Aldershot. The Gulls are desperately short of midfield options and are likely to be without Craig Easton too after Saturday's draw at Chesterfield. Easton suffered a hamstring injury against the Spireites and Tom Cruise may deputise as he did in that fixture. Ling revealed Ian Morris is likely to be "out for months" with an Achilles injury while Damon Lathrope (knee) and Saul Halpin (foot) remain sidelined. Nathan Craig is still struggling with a troublesome ankle problem and faces a late fitness test. United have won just one of their last six outings but have drawn four of them to remain within reach of the play-off positions. Dean Holdsworth will surely be contemplating changes as he searches for the magic formula needed to kickstart Aldershot's season. The Shots suffered a second successive defeat at the weekend as they went down 2-0 at home to York, a fifth loss of the opening nine games of their League Two season. Holdsworth has demanded a reaction and must decide whether to freshen up his XI at Plainmoor, with the likes of Josh Payne, Alex Rodman, Michael Rankine, Guy Branston, Myles Anderson and Kwesi Appiah all in contention. Midfielder Peter Vincenti serves the second game of his three-match suspension while Ross Worner (back) and Craig Stanley (broken leg) are long-term absentees. Shots face a tough task if they are to turn around their fortunes against draw specialists Torquay, who have only lost once in the league this term and are unbeaten on home soil.
